Austenasian Interregnum

The Austenasian Interregnum is the current period in Austenasian history during which the imperial throne has remained vacant. It began on 3 June 2025 following the commencement of the Interregnum and the assumption of authority by Lord Protector Andrew Musgrave.

During the interregnum, executive authority is exercised by the Lord Protector, who serves as regent and head of government. Legislative authority remains vested in the Senate, while day-to-day administration is carried out by the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

The interregnum has been marked by constitutional reforms concerning the succession to the throne, including the establishment of the office of Caesar as the title of the heir apparent and the introduction of new procedures governing imperial succession.

Background

The Austenasian Interregnum began on 3 June 2025, when the imperial throne became vacant. Andrew Musgrave assumed the office of Lord Protector and Regent, becoming responsible for exercising the powers of the Crown during the vacancy.

Government during the interregnum

Proposed restoration of the monarchy

Plans have been announced for the coronation of Johannes Karl. Upon his accession, the interregnum is expected to conclude and the monarchy to be restored.
